Wednesday's Wakkyfakts-April 8

Welcome to Wednesday’s WakkyFakts (unconventional
spelling deliberate), inspired at least in part by Storm Novello’s DIDYANOSE in Dandi Daley Mackall’s <<Blog On>> series.

A few years ago, while searching for vintage boxes to read online, I discovered some Jell-O flavors that are no longer being made.
Apple flavor.
I think I would have liked this, because I love apples, and when I like a certain fruit, I also like that flavor of Jell-O.
Celery flavor.
Really? That doesn’t sound like a dessert! Well, it wasn’t meant to be used as a dessert; it was meant for vegetable salads. My jury is out on whether or not I’d have liked this, probably not. If I want something that tastes like celery, I’ll eat the actual vegetable, usually filled with cream cheese.
As for Jell-O salads, I prefer [actually, I love] black cherry or raspberry Jell-O with fresh fruit, and it absolutely MUST include a banana.
Chocolate flavor.
I actually already knew about this one. I’d seen pictures of old advertisements.
Would I have liked it? I’m not sure, but somehow the taste of chocolate and the texture of Jell-O don’t seem to go together.

I’ve since discovered some more discontinued Jell-O flavors:
Bubble Gum
Coffee
Cola
Maple Syrup

And now for a flavor that never was:
Fish flavor.
All together now: “EWWWWWW!!!”
What made me even THINK of that?
Well, I once, just once, had caviar, and it may not be sophisticated to say this,
but to me it was like eating fish-flavored Jell-O.
